Impact of Fannie & Freddie |
Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac's charitable investments create significant and positive impacts all over Greater Washington. They enrich the quality of life for all in the region and provide a lifeline to our most vulnerable neighbors.
· On Sept 11, the Nonprofit Roundtable and Washington Grantmakers' released a joint statement and letter in the Washington Post that stating no one else could pick up slack in these investments or make up the difference for the region's nonprofits and the people they serve.
· Since Sept 22, a coalition of public, private and civic leaders has worked to bring attention to this critical issue.
· On Oct. 22, a letter co-authored by the Washington region's congressional delegation to the Conservator overseeing Fannie Mae and Freddie mac recognized this important charitable relationship.
