Leading Through Economic Change |
In this economic climate, nonprofits are being asked to do more with less, often having to decide whether to thin the soup or shorten the line. The Roundtable is responding to the changing economy in Greater Washington through several events and initiatives designed to help nonprofits lead, adapt, and thrive through economic change.
“Nonprofit 911” Summit on December 15, 2008
The goal is to develop a collective definition of new economic
reality and to build the will to work together on strategies. The Summit is sponsored by a coalition of eight regional membership and umbrella organizations.
Weathering the Storm Series
The purpose of the series is to help nonprofit leaders understand
the impact of the new economic reality and learn from each other and
experts about strategies to cope and adapt. This series is convened by the Nonprofit
Roundtable with the Nonprofit Finance Fund and the United Way of the
National Capital Area.
New Ways of Working Together Series
“New Ways” is a five-part series to help nonprofit leaders –
service providers, funders, board members – to develop tools to pursue
options regarding strategic restructuring, back-office administration,
mergers, etc. The Series is convened by the Nonprofit Roundtable with
sponsorship by the Community Foundation for the National Capital
Region; The DC Children, Youth Investment Trust Corporation; and the
Meyer Foundation.
Northern Virginia Foreclosure Prevention and Mitigation Network
The Foreclosure Network is an initiative of Nonprofit NoVA and the Nonprofit Roundtable. The Network’s purpose is to coordinate efforts among nonprofit and governmental agencies in Northern Virginia providing services to families facing foreclosure.
