- December 15 - the Roundtable participated in Nonprofit 911, co-hosted with the Community Foundation for the National Capital Region, Washington Grantmakers, Leadership Greater Washington, the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments, United Way of the National Capital Area, the Center for Nonprofit Advancement, and the Greater Washington Board of Trade. The summit addressed how the economy will affect the nonprofit community and what strategies should be employed to help weather the crisis.
- October 23 - the Roundtable co-hosted the release of the National Capital Region Roadmap to Preparedness Strategic Plan with Deloitte at the National Press Club. FEMA Deputy Administrator Dennis Schrader spoke to the group.
- September 30 - the Roundtable co-hosted Nonprofits & Elections: Where the Legal Lines Are Drawn with Tim Delaney, CEO of the National Council of Nonprofits and former Arizona Chief Deputy Attorney General and Solicitor General, and the Center for Lobbying in the Public Interest.
- July 17 - the Nonprofit Roundtable hosted a 2-1-1 National Capital Region Workshop for human services providers, information and referral representatives and other interested regional partners. Participants learned about regional and national 2-1-1 initiatives as well as 2-1-1 experiences from the Gulf Coast Hurricane Katrina and California wildfire disasters.
- June 12 - the Roundtable hosted its 2008 Annual Meeting, Raising Our Image, Raising Our Voice. The event focused on how the value, strength, and impact of Greater Washington's nonprofit community can be better recognized and raised. Tamara Lucas Copeland (Washington Grantmakers), Leslie Crutchfield (Forces For Good, Ashoka), Robert Egger (V3, DC Central Kitchen, author of Begging for Change) were panelists. Moderated by Jim Asendio (WAMU).
