- On January 24, the Roundtable and NPower Greater DC Region hosted a Disaster Recovery Workshop that reviewed continuity plans for nonprofit organizations. It featured Linda Mathes (American Red Cross of the National Capital Area), Benjamin Hendricks (Girl Scout Council of the Nation's Capital), Tim Johnston (NPower) and Mark Bolgiano (Council on Foundations). The Disaster Response and Recovery Workshop and Ten Essentials: Anyone Can Be Prepared For a Disaster slides from the event are available online.
- On November 16, the Roundtable, along with the Nonprofit Finance Fund, hosted Clara Miller (founder of the New York-based Nonprofit Finance Fund) for an event on Balancing Money and Mission. Roundtable Members Roberta Geidner-Antoniotti (Whitman-Walker Clinic) and BB Otero (CentroNía) shared their challenges and successes of running a public benefit corporation as a sustainable business enterprise.
- On October 19, the Roundtable, along with the Meyer Foundation, hosted David La Piana for two events: Nonprofit Mergers and Beyond Strategic Planning. The first session also featured a panel with Summer Spencer (Workforce Organizations for Regional Collaboration) and Ed Orzechowski (Catholic Charities DC).
- On September 13, the Roundtable and Washington Grantmakers co-hosted a Katrina Relief Information Sharing Meeting on the status of relief efforts for Katrina evacuees in our region. The briefing included updates from Linda Mathes (American Red Cross of the National Capital Area), Josh Voss (DC Emergency Management Agency), Terri Lee Freeman (Community Foundation for the National Capital Region), and Karen Feinstein (Georgia Avenue/Rock Creek Family Support Collaborative).
- On June 29, the Roundtable convened a forum on emergency preparedness and the nonprofit sector with the release of Working Together When the Worst Happens: Nonprofit Emergency Preparedness in the National Capital Region. The meeting featured Tom Lockwood, Director of the Office of National Capital Region Coordination as well as speakers from New York City and Oklahoma City. Panels of local nonprofit leaders also discuss recent progress in our region.
- On June 9, the Roundtable held its Annual Meeting and released A Scan of Leadership Development Efforts in the Greater Washington Region. Over 130 nonprofit leaders convened for a dialogue about leadership priorities in our sector.
- On April 19, the Roundtable co-convened a meeting with Independent Sector, the Center for Nonprofit Advancement, the Council on Foundations, Maryland Nonprofits, and Washington Grantmakers to provide feedback to the national Panel on the Nonprofit Sector for their report to the Senate Finance Committee.
- On February 23, the Roundtable released The Business of Doing Good in Greater Washington: How the Nonprofit Sector Contributes to the Region's Economy, a report on the size and scope of the sector and its economic impact on the region. The research was commissioned by the Urban Institute and Johns Hopkins University.
