My big idea is a speed-networking event just for junior foundation staff and junior nonprofit staff to meet and get to know each other's missions. As in speed networking, the nonprofits could sit in one orbit and the foundation staff in another, and one orbit would rotate so nonprofit participants get to meet their foundation counterparts, and vice versa, in an informal setting. The point would be not pitching a grant or seeking out programs, but putting faces to the organizations and learning about how they work before interacting with them in a formal funding relationship.
